Here you will find all the information about FileAgo - a file storage and collaboration platform built for teams and companies.
I began coding FileAgo on July 1, 2017. It has been over a year now, and I am very happy and proud of what I have achieved with this software so far. The desire to build a file storage solution was there inside me for a few years already, and it was as if the universe was leading me and I was merely following all the way along.
So, why a new file management solution?
We already have companies like DropBox and Box dominating the market. However, there is always room for a new player to come in and survive successfully if they bring with them something new to the table. 👍
Sharing files with other members, collaborating using the in-built discussion space, getting notified when a file is updated, keeping old versions of files available for recovery.. it is everything that a company could ever ask for.
However, what sets FileAgo apart from others is its permission model which gives its users greater flexibility to explicitly allow or deny access in their files and folders to other users. This will be the topic for a future blog post as there are a lot to things to cover which will not be ideal to do here right now.
But long story short, FileAgo allows you to set permissions on your resources exactly how you always wanted. 🎉
FileAgo is here! Almost..
The software is beyond 90 percent complete. A handful of minor things are remaining which I need to take care of.
Currently with 15,000 lines of code in the backend, and even more than that in the frontend, I am personally very proud of the way FileAgo has shaped up so far, and I have this feeling that you, as a user, will enjoy using FileAgo as much I enjoyed building it. 😊
